Floating Point Waves

In Floating Point Waves an installation of strings, water, dance, video, and live electronic music converge in a stunning, seamless landscape. Leimay immerses the audience in a mesmerizing space where the human body and basic elements fuse. Every motion of the dance is reflected in the surface of water. The waves alter and shape the light and projected image, evoking the interconnected nature of our world. The dance emerges as an interplay between the body and water; heightening the perception of water inside our body. Projected video creates forms of light that function as visual music. The multilayered sound composition of real-time environmental sounds, live guitar and electronics creates an ethereal atmosphere in which all the performance elements coexist. The world transforms until our only standing point is instability and we are but an interconnected floating point.

Floating Point Waves has been in development for two years through the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) and it will premiere in the fall of 2011.
